Dear Neighbour,

Ward 5 has been my home for my entire life. I grew up here, bought my home here, and now I’m raising my family here. My kids are growing up in the same community that gave me so many great memories. Our community has always meant so much to me.

Four years ago, you gave me the opportunity to serve as your Councillor. I’m incredibly grateful for that. Every day, I get to represent the community I grew up in and love. I’ve met so many great people along the way, heard your stories, helped with your concerns and celebrated some pretty great wins together.

I’ve always been involved in the community, from playing quarterback for the Hamilton Hurricanes to fighting for access to our Canal piers and bringing back the Re-Enactment of the Battle of Stoney Creek.

Over the last four years, I’ve tried to make sure residents always have someone they can reach when they need help. I’ve answered more than 60,000 emails and thousands of calls, and I’ve made myself available day or night, 365 days a year. When you reach out, you deserve a response and someone who will follow up and deliver results.

I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished together, and there is still plenty of work ahead. I love this community, I’m proud to call Ward 5 home, and I would be honoured to have your support to continue serving you.

Thank you for giving me the privilege to serve our community.

Matt Francis
